1.
Shar Nokhoi 05:10
We climb the slope, beneath an endless sky To a yellow dog, that’s hiding in plain sight An ancient form, that’s lived for endless days There’s danger here, so we fear to draw the gaze Bowing down, before a savdag’s home Taking time, to offer to the throne We show respect, beneath the mountain tall And ask for help, and favours for us all Why did we meet, why were we so entwined With consequence, the spirits now do bind We offer him, the things that we have brought In hopes we gain the things that we have sought We climb the slope
2.
Clan Walking 06:17
My mother’s clan, walked from the water Through the valleys, and on through the hills They came to a land without people And settled there, and remain there still They left marks upon their journey Which can still be seen today Marks, which were made sacred By deep knowledge of their way Now what kind of marks do we make? Are they wise? Are they sacred, in their turn? In our lands, now so full of people What true knowledge have we learned? My mother’s clan, walked from the water But their blood still flows in my veins We’ve come far, far, far, from the water But their whispered gifts, they still remain

Givers of falsehoods say They’ve reasons we should trust their words So filled with charm, to sooth us with their touch Delusion time They shuffle all the chairs, arrange them on the deck And say it’s meaningful, and it will save us yet Delusion time But, we see it down the road, we hear it on the wind They sell their platitudes, with smiles freshly skinned Delusion time Are they fools who cannot see Or caught on hypocrisy Or skilled in duplicity, or simple mediocrity Delusion time Don’t grasp the dreams they sell They’re whispers of the night Not ground that takes our weight They fade in morning’s light Delusion time Each dog will have it’s day, each fruit will rot away As night will follow day, no matter what they say Delusion time

Ekstasis 08:16
I’ve built my trust and know them well so have no fear I sing my songs to ask for help and call hem near I dress in ways that shift me from the world mundane And hide my face, and hide my eyes, to see again I let them be inside of me, they guide my flight They speak to me, I hear their words, and gain insight Through skill and dare, through trick or fight I coax it whole Repair and mend the damage done, and aid the soul Now, step away, down from myself, I must now do Changes made, through cunning ways, I shall accrue Stepping beyond What clothes my soul, must now be done Deep, to a land, as dark as night, without the sun Out to the dark beyond the world, I set my aim As they in me, accompany and join the game Then, when I’m outside of me, I seek my goal And fizz, and burn, and twist and turn And lose control Out of the dark, I do emerge, when I’ve returned Gaining control, I gather up all I have learned Patterns reforged, assembled again, I have attained And so myself, soul flight complete, myself regained

Within life, there are things which keep re-appearing There are tides which are unseen That connect us within a theme We may not look, but they appear And when they do they draw us near There’s connection, connection to it all We might run, but we can’t hide. When the waters rush to bring in the tide These things that come, they seek us out They will appear, we should not doubt There’s connection, connection to it all So I ask who are you, and have you come far? And what will you do to raise up your star? Oh hay, oh har rise up your star
6.
You won’t see me, but I’m there none-the-less Sloughing towards shadows to be born I feed on your hatred, and you give me food I delight in your fear, and you keep me amused I come for you in daylight and I come for you at night I amplify anxiety, and feed upon your fright I’m so hungry, give me food and drink Let me feast upon the fears that you have I’ll provoke you, to make them Drip, delicious and so sweet Mature them for decades In the dark, when you can’t sleep Do you feel me very close to you? I’ll whisper in your ear I’ll plant some seeds of illness To help expand your fear Don’t think that you can run from me There’s nowhere you can flee I’m closer than your heart to you You cannot hide from me I’ll change the very shape of you Now that I have got a hold Feed me, feed me, feed me I’m so hungry for your soul But wait, there’s more food to be had I’ll stand behind the throne and make them dance He can make them so afraid of him They’ll shit themselves with fear Then their bleak lives, I can gorge on From the banquet that appears Desperation casserole, oppressed people pie I’ll drain their hopes and dreams from them And suck their lives quite dry I’ll drink from all their greyness Despair will fill my bowl And feasting on their misery I’ll suck their very soul I’ll make him charismatic So he charms the simple ones They’ll follow where he leads them, while I drool Then I’ll have a dish of anger, and coat it in despair Add some sweet futility, and sprinkle on some scare I’ll whisper to Americans, to Arabs and the Jews To racists and protestors And those who fear they’ll lose I’ll squeeze the breast of turmoil Provoke it till it bleeds And suckling on the bitterness I’ll feed, I’ll feed, I’ll feed I’ll feed, I’ll feed

Seeing what we were told unfolding’s Like a view of a bad moon through swirling clouds, We knew, deep in bones of honest knowing Horses of Turmoil would come around We all heard the story telling We all heard the winds had changed their song And now as these horses gather We’ll be swept up and taken before long Pale flanks, but with their hand print of corruption Blood touched from the palm of life Cain-mark to call out their warning Proclaiming a coming strife We bred and gave these horses nurture Loved and loathed in equal measure too Groomed, cared and stabled them So tender And now these horses will come for you There’s something coming near Gone, are things we held wholesome While convinced they’re still present here To keep the warm glow of delusion Ears and eyes closed against the fear That threatens tranquil inertia, But it’s hard to keep it all at bay We cant stop the pale horses That are here to take us away

In this time, in this place We seek islands of sanity

about

The wendigo is a malevolent spirit from Native American Algonquian traditions, one which causes its possessed victims to feel an insatiable hunger for all things, especially, traditionally, human flesh.

The term can also apply to any person or idea possessed by the spirit, which produces a corrosive greed and a desire for excessive consumption; acts which sow disharmony and destruction if left unchecked.

Out of equilibrium, individuals and societies afflicted by the wendigo spirit unravel and destroy the ecological balance around them.
