Shine
04:44
|
|||
Came the moment,
Like a wave that's crossed an ocean,
Like a sunrise on a mountain,
Like a rainstorm in a garden.
Came the moment, and then came you.
I saw it coming,
Like a rider seen from far away,
like a pilgrim from a foreign land,
like a sunbeam in the shadows.
I saw it coming, When I saw you.
And one thing I had learned was
If you part is in a ballet of disaster.
Well I thought I had to be, I had to be
The worlds greatest dancer.
But you taught me other things like,
Everybody here is born to shine, shine, shine
Came the moment,
When you opened up my world for me,
Brought a new horizon,
Brought me something better.
Came the moment, and then came you.
I saw it coming,
But I couldn't back away from it,
Well I couldn't run and I couldn't hide,
I couldn't deny it anymore.
I saw it coming, when I saw you.
And one thing I have learned is leant is
Like the trees in the middle of a forest.
I have been here a long, long, long, long time.
But even though I’m still passing through,
I am like a zephyr, or a feather,
I am floating on the breath of something.
And you have taught me
Everybody here is born to shine, shine, shine

Home

|

I ain't going home, 'cos I’m there already.
I ain't going home, 'cos my home is here.
I ain't going home, 'cos I’m not ready.
I ain't going home, and it’s not from fear.
I ain't going back, 'cos that is for others.
I ain't going back, that’s no place for me.
I ain't going back, that is no destination.
I ain't going back, no place I want to see.
I’m staying here, I ain't going nowhere.
I’m staying here, I ain't got no plans to go.
I’m staying here, till I am ready.
I’m staying here, 'cos it is my show.
I am not going south, I ain't climbing that hill.
I am not passing over, and I ain't sleeping still.
I am not going peaceful, I ain't fading away.
I’m not resting gently, not till judgment day.
I am not going home, and it’s not from fear.

Soul

Well you can come to lunch, or you can come to tea.
And you can stay for breakfast, oh that’s alright with me.
Well you can eat my food and burn my fire,
Whatever is your heart’s desire.
You can use it up, you can have it whole,
It’s all yours, but not my soul.
Well you can have my home, and you can drive my car.
And I won’t throw you out, not even if things go to far.
Well you can have my books and all you see,
They’re yours now they don't belong to me.
You can use them up, you can have them whole,
They’re all yours, but not my soul.
Well you can have my body, anywhere in the house.
And you can have my heart, there’s no need to rip it out.
Well you can be my lover and my dearest friend,
All I have is your’s to spend.
You can use it up, you can have it whole,
It’s all yours, but not my soul.
Well I want your body, and I want your love
I want them both in times of plenty,
And when the push it comes to shove.
I want to be your lover, and your closest friend.
Ease your life and you defend.
I want to share it, share it whole,
Share it all, but not your soul.

Wings
04:24
|
|||
I dropped a gold coin in the ocean,
To let it be worn away,
Knowing that it would one day, within the blue.
And I didn't mind a little bit,
That nothing seemed to change,
No magic came in range for me to do.
And all the time the waves broke here,
On their way from the other side.
Bringing tales of high adventure,
On each and every tide.
And I tried to chase the mystery then,
That I had no right to know.
There’s no gate-crashing the show before it starts,
Oh but everybody wonders, and everybody dreams
And everyone has a question in their hearts
So I had to wait for the show to start, not knowing that It already had, thinking it was all so bad that I had to wait.
That I felt I was falling from a clear blue sky,
Scared I’d crash and blaze,
With the ground all in a haze far below.
Well I didn't know that I could fly back then,
I didn't know that I had wings.
I was to busy watching for bandits in the sun,
And all of those other things.
But the mystery seemed to touch me,
Like it seems to touch us all,
As we learn how not to fall and how to glide.
And I leant then how to wonder,
And I learn then how to dream,
And I leant then how to question all I spied
You put a message into my hand once, It was many Years ago, and I never had the nerve to ask you why.
It said hold tightly onto your dreams,
For you know that if dreams die,
life is a broken bird that cannot fly.
So I sought to follow my own dreams,
And I hope that you have too.
And the tales met on that journey,
I would like to share with you.
So let’s sit by this fire,
And warm up all our bones.
And share all those stories of our way.
And we can share the wonder,
We can share the dream,
We can share the questions.
What do you say?

If I cried me a river,
All the way to the sea.
Would the touch of it's waters,
Purify me.
I'm not all that I wanted,
Not as white as the snow.
But that's not what we asked for,
Didnt you know.
Well this is some journey,
One hell of a path
Heart to Heart,
While Hearts and souls last.
Did we ask for this journey,
Or to walk on this path.
Well maybe we did,
And we've got it right at last.
Sleep seems so easy,
When you can't stay awake
But what of dreams that have lingered,
After day break
Are they ones with a purpose,
Or a glimpse of what's true
Do they hold any answers,
For me and for you
These dreams hold such memories,
And give you many thoughts
That they take us into shadows,
Until we have been caught
And our pathways are plated,
And we've bound ourselves fast
But when we free ourselves swiftly,
We've got it right at last
So lets sing it out,
There no more we can do
We could rage out loud at spirit,
If we thought we might get through
But the powers arnt listening,
Not to the likes of you and me
They are far to busy laughing,
In their silent revery
So while I'm holding your hand,
Maybe we should split our sides too
In the end maybe a good laugh,
Is the best that we can do
Maybe some humour,
Will help us with our task
Maybe then we will find,
That we've got it right at last.

Bubble
03:57
|

And if I understand how it is, and how it works,
And how It lives, and how it breaths,
And how it all comes together.
If I see the threads that join up all the pieces
Will I ever move beyond the feeling
That I don't belong.
There are days when I feel
I don't know how to reach out my hand
And touch what's real,
In the need to understand
How the world fits together.
Do I pretend I see the patterns,
See the shapes, and see the purpose
Of how it is for others, do I pretend that I am the same.
Hey, hey, hey, hey all of my life.
I felt I was outside of the bubble
Watching other people in there, in their world
And they knew how to be there,
They knew what was expected of them
But I could not get inside, no I could not get inside.
And I had no words to tell it like I saw it as a child.
And I had no way to say. the world feels out of sync
To me, Please help me I am lagging
Half a step behind the dance, out of rhythm,
Out of rhyme, and I can’t catch up.
And it all just ignored me.
And even now it’s hard to paint a picture for another
Of how the world seems to be to me.
And I seem to lack the rules to move
Across the game board of my adult life,
When the pitfalls are all hidden,
And the dice seems to never get a double,
And no one has told me the reason for the game
Hey, hey, hey, hey all of my life.
I have been outside of the bubble
Watching other people in there, in their world
And i didn't know how to be there,
And I didn't know what was expected of me
And I could not get inside, I couldn't get inside.

Not You And I
06:27
|
|||
I forgot who I am, as I tumbled through my life.
Forgot that I was noble,
As I walked into my trouble and strife.
Forgot to fill my space up,
And to walk in my own way.
Forgot the things that mattered,
Seems like each and every day.
But I remembered, I’m not diminished, not me.
You’re noble too, oh, don’t throw yourself away.
Hold on to that voice that you hear inside,
And listen to what its got to say.
You can fill up your own space,
Each and every molecule.
You can own the way that you walk,
And the song that you sing is your tune.
You’re not diminished, not you.
Every beat of your heart,
And step that you walk.
Can take you down roads,
Where the fear stalks.
So I praise the artists for walking alone,
Down the long road to the unknown.
And I praise the dreamer,
Who once showed to me.
That being small doesn’t set you free.
And I praise the darers,
Who won to choose life.
Who stood in their right size,
To give us insight.
We’re not diminished, not us.

Breeze
03:25
|

Well, the breezes blow here since time began.
And you’re still here, you never went away.
You make me smile like a little child,
With a richness words just cant say.
Footsteps we left behind,
Will go with the rising tide.
But the memories will last here,
At least for one thousand years.

Water

I make a mark in the air,
And the air becomes water
And the surface of the waters
where’s the spirit comes through
I make a mark on the earth,
And the earth becomes water
And the surface of the waters
Where’s the spirit comes through
I make a mark in the fire,
And the fire becomes water
And the surface of the waters
Where’s the spirit comes through
I make a mark on the skin,
and the skin becomes water
And the surface of the waters
Where’s the spirit comes through

Shining Still
02:28
|
|||
I shine, and you shine, they shine, and we all shine.
That’s the way things are.
I’ve got a friend, I’ve got a lover.
I’ve got a sister, and I’ve got a brother.
I had a father and I had a mother.
That's just the way things are.
I shine, and you shine, they shine, we all shine.
That’s the way things are.
I got born and I grew up.
i leant some lessons, and some other stuff.
There wasn't plenty but there was enough
That's the way things are.
I shine, and you shine, they shine, and we all shine.
That’s the way things are.
I got older and I’m going to die.
Some one will miss me and maybe they’ll cry
But I’ll come back here baby - bye and bye.
That’s just the way things are.
I shine, and you shine, even they shine, we all shine.
That’s the way things are.
